blah blah blah The Argente Brun rabbit originated in France. It was developed from the Argente rabbit breed, known for its silver-gray coat. The breed was created for both meat production and fur quality. The name "Argente Brun" translates to "Brown Silver," reflecting its unique coloration.
It gained popularity in Europe for its hardiness and adaptability. The breed is recognized for its calm temperament and good maternal instincts.
According to the Livestock Conservancy, the Argente Brun rabbit breed first appeared in the late 1800s in France but disappeared in the early 20th century. Interest was revitalized by H.D.H. Dowle who, from 1939 to 1941, worked to recreate these beautiful rabbits. Their signature silver frosted brown coat makes them an eye-catching breed to turn heads on a show floor. Their temperament is friendly and sweet if worked with at a young age. Mothering ability is excellent with an average litter size of around 8 kits. The breed is well-sized for meat production, reaching a mature weight of ideally 9 pounds. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
